Frequently asked questions
Can't find what you're looking for? Email support@matevoinspection.com or call (571) 716-0696 and we'll reply quickly.
What if the seller is unavailable?
If our inspector arrives for a confirmed appointment and the seller, dealership, or key holder cannot provide access to the vehicle, the inspector will wait up to 30 minutes and may make reasonable efforts to reach the contact provided. If access still cannot be obtained, Matevo will apply your original booking payment to one free reschedule for the same vehicle, subject to availability. No cash refund is issued after the inspector arrives. The free reschedule applies once per booking, must be scheduled within 14 calendar days, and does not guarantee same-day, expedited, or priority availability. Please confirm seller/dealer access, keys, and road-test permission before the appointment. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for full details.
How fast is the report?
Reports are delivered within 4 hours after the inspection is completed. You'll get an email the moment it's ready.
What if my area isn't covered?
Leave your ZIP and email — you won't be charged anything, and we'll notify you when coverage opens, typically within a few weeks in growing markets.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Appointments are prepaid and payments are generally non-refundable. If you cancel at least 12 hours before your appointment, the payment is not refunded but you may reschedule one time at no additional charge, subject to availability. Within 12 hours, the payment is non-refundable and a complimentary reschedule is not guaranteed. Full details are in our Cancellation & Refund Policy at /refund.
What happens if the seller or dealership cannot provide access?
If our inspector arrives for a confirmed appointment and the seller, dealership, or key holder cannot provide access to the vehicle, the inspector waits up to 30 minutes. There is no cash refund after arrival, but the payment can be applied to one rescheduled inspection of the same vehicle within 14 calendar days, subject to availability. The free reschedule applies once per booking. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy at /refund for full details.
What if Matevo has to cancel, or the weather is unsafe?
If we cancel or cannot perform the inspection for a reason within our control, you choose between a full refund or a complimentary reschedule. If weather, location, or vehicle conditions make the inspection unsafe, we postpone and reschedule at no penalty. See /refund.
How does the $39 rush fee work?
The $39 rush fee covers expedited scheduling and is subject to availability. If we accept it but cannot provide the promised expedited service, we refund the $39. If expedited service is prevented by the seller, vehicle access, unsafe conditions, or another circumstance outside our control, the rush fee is not automatically refundable. See /refund.
Where do you inspect the vehicle?
Our inspector comes to the vehicle's location — a dealership, private residence, or public meeting spot. We serve Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
Do I need to be there during the inspection?
You don't have to be present, but we recommend it if you can. You are responsible for arranging permission and access with the seller or owner, including keys and test-drive permission.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe. Appointments are prepaid to reserve your appointment window.
What is included in each package?
Essential includes a mobile visual inspection, OBD-II diagnostic scan, battery and charging-system test, accessible ground-level underbody review, tire-wear assessment, road test when safe and permitted, photos, and a digital report. Complete includes everything in Essential, plus paint-thickness readings, measured brake-pad depth where accessible, expanded mechanical documentation, repair priorities, estimated repair-cost ranges, and a post-inspection consultation. Signature includes everything in Complete, plus detailed paint and bodywork mapping, expanded diagnostic and road-test documentation, expanded evidence, and a buyer-ready Negotiation Brief. Road tests are performed only when the vehicle is safe, legal, insured, accessible, and authorized by the seller or dealership. Underbody observations are limited to components safely visible from ground-level access unless a lift inspection is specifically arranged.
What is Signature priority report delivery?
Signature inspections have a priority report-delivery target within 1 hour after inspection completion. This target applies when report delivery is not delayed by access limitations, safety conditions, technical issues, unusually complex findings, or circumstances outside Matevo’s reasonable control.
