Pre-Purchase Vehicle Inspections, Done at the Car
A pre-purchase inspection is an independent evaluation of a used vehicle carried out before money changes hands. Matevo is mobile: instead of asking a seller to release the car to a shop for half a day, our inspector comes to the vehicle, documents what they find with photos, and sends you a digital report the same day.
Why independence matters
The person selling the car, and the shop the seller recommends, both benefit from the deal closing. We don't. Matevo performs no repairs and takes no referral fees, so there is no reason for us to soften a finding or invent one. You are paying for an opinion that belongs to you.
What we look at
- Exterior panels, glass, lights and evidence of prior repair or repaint
- Interior condition, electronics, HVAC and safety equipment
- Engine bay, fluid levels and condition, visible leaks
- Tires, tread depth, brake wear and suspension components
- Frame and undercarriage areas visible without a lift
- OBD trouble codes and readiness monitors, paint-thickness readings and a road test on the higher packages
How the process works
- Enter the address where the vehicle is located and pick a package and time window.
- We coordinate access with the dealership or private seller.
- The inspection is performed on site — you're welcome to attend, but you don't have to.
- Your report is published with findings, severity and photos, and emailed to you.
Choosing a package
- Essential — $249. Buyers who want an independent professional visual assessment before purchasing a used vehicle.
- Complete — $399. Most used-car buyers who want a more complete pre-purchase inspection.
- Signature — $599. Luxury, performance, modified, classic, high-value, or higher-risk vehicles.
Not sure which one fits? Look at a real sample inspection report first — it's the same format customers receive.
Honest limits
An inspection reflects the vehicle's observable condition on the day it is inspected. It is not a warranty, and it cannot predict future failures or uncover problems that are hidden or not present at the time. Used cars carry risk; our job is to make that risk visible.
