Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Matevo website and booking an inspection, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Services

Matevo provides independent, mobile pre-purchase vehicle inspection services. Our inspections are visual and diagnostic assessments performed at the vehicle’s location. Reports are delivered digitally and are based on the condition of the vehicle at the time of inspection.

3. Booking and Payment

  • Inspection appointments are prepaid and confirmed upon successful payment through Stripe.
  • Pricing is shown at checkout and may vary by package and add-ons.
  • Payments are generally non-refundable except as stated in our Cancellation & Refund Policy or where required by applicable law.
  • You must provide accurate vehicle location, contact, and access information.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule if the vehicle cannot be safely accessed or the location is outside our service area.

4. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Refunds

  • Cancelling 12 or more hours before the appointment: the payment is not refunded, and you may reschedule one time at no additional charge, subject to availability.
  • Cancelling less than 12 hours before the appointment: the payment is non-refundable, a complimentary reschedule is not guaranteed, and a new appointment may require a new inspection payment.
  • If the seller, dealership, or vehicle representative is unavailable when the inspector arrives, the inspector waits up to 30 minutes and makes reasonable efforts to reach the contact you provided. If access cannot be obtained, the inspector may leave. There is no cash refund after arrival, but the payment can be applied to one rescheduled inspection of the same vehicle within 14 calendar days, subject to availability.
  • If Matevo cancels or cannot perform the inspection due to an issue within our control, you may choose a full refund or a complimentary reschedule.
  • If weather, location, vehicle, or other safety conditions make the inspection unsafe, the inspection may be postponed and you receive a complimentary reschedule with no penalty.
  • The optional $39 rush fee covers expedited scheduling, subject to availability. It is refunded if Matevo cannot provide the promised expedited service, and is not automatically refundable when expedited service is prevented by circumstances outside Matevo's control.

The full policy, including inspection limitations and vehicle-sold scenarios, is set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law.

5. Limitation of Liability

Matevo’s inspections are independent opinions based on observable conditions at the time of service. We are not a party to any vehicle purchase transaction and do not guarantee the future performance, reliability, or value of any vehicle. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the inspection service.

6. Vehicle Access and Safety

You are responsible for ensuring Matevo has permission and reasonable access to the vehicle at the scheduled time, including coordinating with the dealership, private seller, owner, or any other person controlling access. If the inspector cannot access the vehicle because access was not arranged, or if the seller refuses the inspection, there is no cash refund after arrival. The payment can be applied to one rescheduled inspection of the same vehicle within 14 calendar days, subject to availability. We may refuse service if conditions are unsafe or illegal.

Some procedures — such as a road test, underbody inspection, or OBD diagnostics — depend on the package purchased, vehicle design, seller permission, safe access, and other conditions outside our control. If one procedure cannot be performed, we complete the remaining applicable procedures and document material limitations in the report. This does not automatically qualify you for a full or partial refund.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including inspection reports, photographs, logos, and text, is owned by Matevo or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or redistribute our reports without permission.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Matevo and its inspectors from claims arising out of your use of our services, misrepresentation of vehicle information, or failure to obtain necessary permissions.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Virginia.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
