Mobile Pre-Purchase Car Inspection Near Me
Searching for a mobile pre-purchase car inspection near you? Matevo sends an independent inspector to the vehicle — at a dealership, a private seller's driveway, or another permitted location — across Northern Virginia, Washington, DC and select Maryland locations. Here is what the inspection covers and how it works.
Quick Answer
A mobile pre-purchase inspection checks a used car where it sits, before you pay. Every Matevo package includes a visual inspection of the exterior, interior, engine bay, fluids, leaks, tires, brakes and lights, a Full-System Diagnostic Scan, a battery and charging-system test, an accessible underbody review, and a road test when permitted and safe. You get a photo-documented digital report within 4 hours.
Packages start at $249 with no travel fee inside our service area, and you can book a 2-hour window any day from 8AM to 10PM. You do not need to attend.
What a Car Inspection Covers
Exterior and body
The inspector walks the car panel by panel, looking for dents, scratches, rust, mismatched paint, uneven gaps and signs of prior repair, and checks all exterior lights and glass.
Interior
Seats, controls, climate, windows, locks, infotainment and dashboard warning lights are checked for condition and operation.
Engine bay, fluids and leaks
Fluid levels and condition are reviewed, along with visible leaks, belts, hoses and general engine-bay condition.
Tires and brakes
Tire tread and wear patterns are recorded, and the brakes are inspected for visible wear.
Full-System Diagnostic Scan
A scan of supported modules — such as engine, transmission, ABS and airbags — for stored and pending codes and readiness status. Results depend on vehicle compatibility.
Battery, charging system and underbody
The battery and charging system are tested, and the accessible underside is reviewed for leaks, damage and corrosion.
Road test
When the seller permits it, the car is operable and conditions are safe, the inspector drives the car to check acceleration, braking, steering, suspension, noises and transmission behavior.
Choosing a Package

Complete adds paint-thickness readings, measured brake-pad depth, repair priorities, estimated repair-cost ranges and a consultation with the inspector.
